Last summer, Facebook did a big overhaul of its power editor. The interface is now a lot more useable and it is not so buggy as it was before. However when anything changes, it leads to confusion and frustration!

And if you have never used the power editor before, you might be feeling apprehensive of using it due to your lack of understanding of how it all works. Don’t be! Once you learn how the power editor works and where everything is, it really makes your life as an FB advertiser so much easier.

In this post, I am going to guide you through the new power editor interface so you know where all of the critical elements are so that you can get up to speed fast and start using it to create your Facebook Ads.

So lets get straight into it! Firstly, below is an image of the new power editor interface:

Image Library: This is the central place which stores all of the images that you have uploaded to power editor.

Reporting: The list of your saved reports on your campaigns is stored here.

Page Posts: This was previously known as “manage pages”. This lists a collection of page posts.

You can now simply select the ad, ad set or campaign that you wish to edit by clicking a tick box on the left.

It is very simple to edit your campaigns, ad sets and ads within the power editor and I will reveal how to do this now. The image below shows’ the editing options available to you:

Firstly, if you want to create a new campaign, ad set or ad, select the appropriate icon on the left hand navigation bar and then simple select ‘create campaign’, ‘ad set’, or ad depending on which icon you selected.

However if you wish to edit one of the areas of your ad campaign this is very easy to do. Simply select the tick box next to the relevant campaign, ad set or ad you wish to edit and then simply click the ‘edit’ button on the menu bar that can be seen in the above image.

For example  if I wanted to edit a part of my ad set, this is what you will see below:

From here, you are able to easily edit your budget, audience, schedule, bidding, placement and ad delivery very easily. And this process is the same whether you are editing your campaign, ad set or ad.

When you have finished editing, simply unclick the tick box and the editing screen will collapse to the right.
